The second booster shot for COVID-19 is available on Long Island.
Nearly three months after Hofstra made a COVID-19 booster shot mandatory for all in-person students, Long Island pharmacies have begun developing and distributing a second booster vaccine. The development of the additional shot has some students questioning whether or not the university will make a second booster mandatory for the fall 2022 semester, which was the case for the first three COVID-19 vaccinations.
The university has yet to make an official announcement about their decision regarding the second booster.
It’s Public Health Week at Hofstra.
This week, Hofstra’s School of Health Professions and Human Services is offering fun and free events for students both in-person and online. These events are being held in celebration of the American Public Health Association’s observation of National Public Health Week.
All in-person events are in accordance with Hofstra’s COVID-19 policies regarding vaccination. Sign up for events here.
