In an article with The Chronicle of Higher Education, President Susan Poser disclosed Hofstra’s criteria for creating its peer institution list, which is a critical process that universities use to assess their values and priorities.
“There were so many engagements [Poser] had to cancel because she had COVID. But it’s not changing any policies and it’s a problem.”

In March of 2021, Hofstra pre-medical student Nafiah Ikram was attacked in front of her home when a stranger threw acid on her face, resulting in severe burns and disfigurement. The Clocktower reported this story when it happened.
